About the project
For a campaign promoting veteran mental health resources, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs partnered with Disguise Services and The Audio\Visual Crew to produce multiple cinematic environments using virtual production. Real-time scenes built in Unreal Engine allowed the team to simulate locations ranging from a backyard party to the Grand Canyon on an LED stage, enabling five distinct settings to be filmed in a single day.
My role
Real-Time Designer · Unreal Engine · Virtual Production · Previsualization
Designed and built two environments for a five-environment virtual production, taking full creative responsibility for the war exterior. Developed the environments around the Director and DP’s planned camera movements and created an animatic combining virtual environments, planned practical props, camera movement, and basic actor animation to previsualize the shoot. On site, served as the primary designer for live creative changes, working directly with the Visual Effects Supervisor and collaborating with the Disguise Operator on scene development and real-time performance testing.
